Amid simmering tensions over an explosive document that points out FBI’s abuse of surveillance power against the Trump presidential campaign, the White House is expected to approve the release of the secret memo on Friday.

Answering over Democrats’ allegations that the four-page document is intended at thwarting Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, a top U.S. Republican, House Speaker Paul Ryan, said the Congress has the responsibility to see surveillance powers aren’t misused, notes the BBC.

The FBI has already expressed “grave concerns,” over the controversial memo, which is based on “material omission of facts,” while the Justice Department is alarmed that the document gives away sensitive, classified information, notes Reuters.
