U.S. President Donald Trump’s lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to his former strategist Steve Bannon, accusing him of violating his employment agreement, disclosing confidential information and making defamatory statements about the leader.

Bannon, who was instrumental in shaping Trump’s populist and anti-establishment message, has made some explosive revelations about Trump and his family in Michael Wolff’s forthcoming book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” writes Reuters.

In the excerpts from the book, Bannon has described a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a group of Russians as “treasonous” in addition to claiming that Ivanka Trump nurtures plans to be “the first woman president,” notes the BBC.
