Paul Bayes, the Bishop of Liverpool, hit out at conservative evangelical Christians in the U.S. for supporting President Donald Trump, who he said, runs a divisive system that marginalizes poor and immigrants.

Speaking at the launch of the Ozanne Foundation, a charity that fights sexual or gender discrimination, Bayes said that the endorsement of right-wing populism doesn’t relate with Christian faith, notes the BBC

Bayes’ remarks echo Justin Welby, the archbishop of Canterbury, who last month took a dig at Trump, without naming him, as he criticized “populist leaders that deceive,” writes The Guardian
