Trump’s travel ban can take full effect: Top U.S. court

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled that President Donald Trump’s travel ban on visitors from six mainly Muslim countries can take full effect, a decision which Attorney General Jeff Sessions described as “a substantial victory for the safety and security of the American people.”

The ruling on Trump’s third version of the directive since he assumed office said the legal challenges to the controversial executive order can continue in the lower courts, writes the BBC.

The ruling doesn’t verify the constitutionality of the order but admits there is substance in the Trump administration’s argument to lift emergency injunctions on the ban, notes The Guardian
