Lazy folks must love it! Researchers at the Sussex Computer Human interaction (SCHI) Lab at the U.K.’s University of Sussex are working on a technology, named TastyFloats, which levitates food straight into one’s mouth without any physical contact in the process.

The innovative delivery system employs acoustic levitation techniques to float food crumbs to the user’s mouth, allowing a digital control over what and how much is delivered, notes Digital Trends.

In addition to shaping up our interaction with food in future, the technology opens new possibilities to design novel end-to-end gustatory interfaces, for example, the seating system fitted with an end-to-end food delivery mechanism can lead to “Edible Cinema” approach, writes IEEE Spectrum
