A former Conservative Party Chairman, Grant Shapps, revealed on Friday that a faction of 30 cabinet ministers privately agreed that British Prime Minister Theresa May should quit, a claim that bares open the internal rifts over the authority and future of the leader.

The revelation follows May’s “catastrophic” speech at the party’s annual conference on Wednesday where she suffered coughing fits and was handed a bogus employment termination notice amid a falling set in the background, writes The Telegraph.

May’s authority over the party has seen significant erosion since her snap election fiasco that cost Conservatives their majority in the parliament, notes Reuters
