According to a study published in journal Science, researchers at California Institute of Technology have devised a new biological robot using a single strand of DNA, which can haul cargo on the tiniest scale i.e. at molecular levels.

The robot, programmed in the language of chemicals, replicates the functioning of “machine-like” components found in biological organisms, notes Seeker.

The work holds promise for modern-day medicinal applications although fashioning DNA bots for complex tasks while integrating them with existing systems may take decades from here, writes Cosmos
