SPACE10 pop up vertical farm has 'taste of future'

IKEA’s SPACE10 lab is all set to introduce high-tech urban farms in London, giving the city “a taste of future” with methods that make food production simpler, cheaper, faster and more efficient.

The company will reveal a six-day vertical pop-up farm, named LOKAL, during the London Design Festival, showcasing the utility and role of automated hydroponics system for producing fresh, nutritious and delicious food, writes Inhabitat.

The indoor farming industry is fast expanding and is expected to become a $42 billion industry over the next 10 years, with numerous players entering the sector to merge technology with agriculture, notes Fast Company.
