Befooling machines has never been easy, and now a new layer of security may get in place with an artificial intelligence system that can ID faces even when they are disguised with head coverings and fake beards.

The Disguised Face Identification System, developed by researchers from the University of Cambridge and the National Institute of Technology, India, picks 14 “facial key-points” that remain hidden under disguise and sources this missing information from other photos or videos to identify the individual, writes Seeker.

Although the system displayed a modest accuracy of 56 percent, it could be reasonably handy in tracking miscreant elements, who participate in protests creating ruckus, notes Quartz.
