While the world is on the brink of a future abuzz with vroom of electric cars, German components manufacturer Bosch has an eco-friendly solution to prevent or at least delay the untimely exit of combustion engines.

The company is hunting for a carbon-neutral synthetic fuel, which could be formulated with different constituents for varying uses, and could replace gasoline and diesel in the long run, notes Digital Trends.

The company is running two pilot projects in Germany and Norway, although it admits that the process of producing synthetic fuels involves high costs and other complexities in the initial stages, Car Advice.
