Addressing a rally in Phoenix on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump took potshots at “obstructionist” Democrats, adding that if necessary, he may close down the government to build his wall along the Mexico border.

Reverting to his “element, pugnacious and freewheeling style,” Trump evoked the populist election campaign, accusing Democrats of risking America’s safety by opposing the wall, notes The Guardian.

During the 80-minute speech, Trump also bashed the media for distorted representation of his initial response to the violence at Charlottesville rally, writes the BBC. While the president poured scorn over the rivals and media in his customary manner, a group of anti-Trump protesters clashed with the police.
