The third attempt to repeal Obamacare fell flat in the U.S. Senate on Thursday after at least three Republicans, including Arizona Senator John McCain, voted against the “skinny repeal bill” in a dramatic turn of events.

U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out at the hostile Republican Senators, adding that they have “let the American people down,” writes the BBC. McCain, who was mocked by Trump two years ago over his Vietnam War record, apparently “stuck a dagger” at the president’s healthcare reform plans.

The bill, scrapped by 51-49 votes, would have made the insurance premiums 20 percent costlier besides pushing out 15 million people currently covered by health insurance, notes The Guardian.
