Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said on Wednesday that America is prepared to use its military forces against North Korea if diplomatic efforts fail to restrict Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs.

Haley informed the Security Council meeting that the U.S. would soon submit a draft resolution for imposing further sanctions on North Korea for military escalation that threatens the security of America and its allies, writes The Guardian.

N. Korea, which test-launched an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday, has rejected the calls to halt its nuclear and missile programs, demanding the end of Washington’s “hostile policy” to engage in any kind of negotiation, notes the BBC.
