The diplomatic crisis that resulted after major Arab powers snapped off ties with Qatar intensified on Friday as Doha hit back at the “baseless” allegations that it supports a dozen of organizations and 59 individuals figuring in a recently published list of terror-supporters.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), Bahrain and Egypt have imposed sanctions on several individuals and Qatari-based organizations, accusing them of financing terrorist activities, writes The Guardian.

Qatar insists that it has engaged more actively in combating terrorism than many other states, adding that the pressure to change its foreign policy amounts to breach of its sovereignty, notes Al Jazeera.
