India, a nation faced with a big challenge of how to deal with the hordes of scrapped currency notes, seems to have found an innovative solution if a new technique by a 17-year-old science student from Odisha holds good.

Lachman Dundi, a student of Khariar College, claims that he has produced 5 volts of electricity using the silicon coating on the note, writes Deccan Chronicle.

The boy’s innovation has already created waves across the country, with the Prime Minister’s Office directing the local government to verify the student’s claim and submit a report, notes The Times of India.
